Fall is hard upon us here in the upper Midwest and there are three types of boaters at this time of year: those lamenting pulling the boat for the season, those who can put on an extra layer of clothing and squeeze several more weeks out of the boating season and those lucky enough to spend the winter in a warm-weather locale with an endless boating season. The boat show season is also getting underway, providing a chance to get out of the chill and chill out while looking at all of the new boats and boating accessories coming for 2014. This is a great time of year for much needed propeller and boat repairs, upgrades and fine tuning, and we have plenty of ideas for you on our Facebook page or at BBLADES.com. Stop by and check out ways to improve the performance of your boat so you’re ready for spring. It’s not as far away as it seems right now!

NEW From BBLADES
Sneak Peak at the NEW BBLADES Bravo 1 OBF
Running a big four-stroke outboard? Then you’ll want to check out the NEW BBLADES Bravo 1 OBF, and as a loyal reader of the BBLADES Boating News you can do just that. We won’t be releasing this bad boy to the public until the Miami International Boat Show in February, but here’s the low down: BBLADES has applied our knowledge and expertise to one of the most versatile propellers available, making it ideal for 150 – 300 horsepower four-stroke outboards.
We start with a Mercury Bravo 1, and then wedge the leading edge of each blade for improved acceleration. Next, we match the cupping on each blade for improved performance. Because cupping can increase a propeller’s pitch, engine rpm will generally decrease. The location and amount of cupping determines the rpm and a boat’s personality and attitude changes. The prop is then perfectly balanced, and finally we custom tune the exhaust diffuser for that final little bit of speed.
It’s our own secret recipe cooked up right here in our shop. At just $757.00, it’s like getting a custom propeller at a fraction of the cost. Want a closer look before Miami? Give us a call at 920-295-4435. But, shhhhhh, we’re not talking about this anywhere else until the New Year.
